Rabi Narayan Rath was born on 7 March 1960 in Puri, Odisha, India. He pursued his formal education in art at Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal, where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). He later obtained his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Sculpture from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, one of India’s leading institutions for fine arts education.
Rath has established himself as a significant figure in the field of contemporary Indian sculpture.
