He was born in Nanpur, a remote village in Odisha, India. where there were no roads, electricity, or modern facilities. As a child, he began learning art at the age of three, drawing symbolic circles representing the Hindu Trinity—an experience that shaped his creative journey. With no school in his village, he walked miles daily to study in a nearby village.

After matriculation, he studied science at Ravenshaw College in Cuttack, he pursued architecture in Bombay J.J School of Architerture, where he was accepted with a scholarship. He later completed his degree from the University of Bombay and went to London for further studies, followed by Town Planning in Leeds, where he also began exhibiting his paintings 7 setteled at London till now.

He worked as an Architect Planner in London and became a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, but eventually left his professional career to focus on art and writing. His art has been exhibited globally since 1964.

Today, his efforts continue through educational and cultural initiatives, supported by an international network promoting rural development and creativity in Nanpur.
